byronlawrence
Would it be interesting to have a forum/section of this site that sets up assignment shots (like shutterbug's "Picture this" thing) for poeple to submit photos to, and then have the members of the site vote for the best? . have a bi-weekly or monthly winner? It would be like the 'No Words' forum but slower and somebody wins! I think it would be an interesting addition to the site. The only problem I could for see is everybody votes for their own picture. so to solve that it could be made were you cannot vote for your own submssion. and the other problem is that most likely the winner will be a 'mass market' kind of view .. like the person who sells out most or something. but good work is good work. byronlawrence
and there would also have to be a limit on the number of submissions that one could make.
byronlawrence
also whenever the winner was posted, it could be in form of a list of the top 50 or 100. this might be variable depending on how dispersed the votes for the different submissions are. byronlawrence
sorry to post so many times. and at the end of the year a vote for the, say, top ten winners of the monthly contests could be held and a picture of the year could selected. there might also be a need/want for several categories, to compete separetely, like landscape, cars, nudity, macro nudity, etc.
mattvardy
Byron
There is a small sub-group of photo.net called Picture This that you might be interested in. They have assignments weekly or monthly, and focus a lot of there efforts on providing a constructive, critique based open-minded community. I am a former member and would recommend it to anyone interested in receiving more honest and construstive feedback on their work, and also anyone that is interested in this sort of "group assignment" work.
