garry edwards
We're Brooks Short & Garry Edwards and we moderate the lighting forum. You can contact us by clicking on our names and requesting our email addresses if you have any queries or problems relating to the forum. Our forum policy is simple; we want people to get the best possible answers to their questins, so if you're asking a question please take the time to make sure that other members will understand exactly what you need to know. And if you're contributing an answer, please be courteous to other members, stay on- topic and give as complete an answer as you can. The forum posts that are generally the most useful are those about actual lighting techniques, rather than equipment-specific questions. This forum covers a wide range of subjects and all questions about lighting equipment and techniques are welcome, but if your question is about using a Canon 540 or a Nikon SB-800 (for example) then you may get better answers in the Canon EOS or the Nikon forums than here. It's against PN policy to post the same question in more than one forum, so you need to choose which is likely to produce better answers. We get quite a lot of questions about which type of studio lights are needed - these questions are welcome but quite a lot of the answers are contained in our short article on studio lighting equipment. And there's a lot of information about speific lighting techniques in the series of lighting themes, exploring these links can save you a lot of time. Photo.net now has an updated open letter to members here http://www.photo.net/from-the-editor/200701 and there are some site stats and info about the people behind photo.net here http://www.photo.net/about-us. meatwagon
yes i totally agree, i think there should also be a beginners lighing forum, seems like a good 20% of the questions are about what lights to get or are alien bees the way to go. No enough people actually research their question 1st with the search button. They would rather just ask and wait. Keep up the great work guys, photo.net is my bible and im am 100% self taught from this site. well more like 65% but you get the point.
