A & M Photo World

  1. Has anyone used A & M Photo World, http://www.amphotoworld.com, they
are offering a Canon 20D for just over $1000, I had thought I would
get the Digital Rebel XT when it hits this month but for under $100
more I could go with the 20D with lens. If this is a reputable
vendor it would definitely be worth it.

  2. If it's considerably less than either Adorama or B&H I'd check them out very carefully. You know the saying. If it looks too good to be true....

They may be selling a body without a box, instructions, disc, strap, etc for $1,000, and at the same price or more with everything and with inflated shipping costs. There's nothing more exhilerating than a 3-4 week hastle with a bait & switch store.

  3. ...and if you don't think it'll happen to you, then peruse these listings:

  4. When will people learn? . . .

  5. Was it Mark Twain who said "There's a sucker born every minute"? That is probably pasted over the phone of every salesman at A&M Photo World. There will always be someone who thinks they can find the better, lower price. For those folks, there are stores like this.

If this doesn't send you running in the other direction, then nothing will. "A fool and his money are soon parted."

  7. Just a little trivia; David Hannum, a banker and rival of P.T. Barnum is the author of the quote: "There's a sucker born every minute."
