alokppatel
Hi, I just bought this Calument 4*5 camera off the bay for 160 bucks. I have an 8*10 Cambo Legend, but I wanted something a little easier to carry around. I just wanted something cheap without too many limitations to shoot with my 240mm lens. I will try to post a picture of the camera since I know little about the camera, including the model number. I appreciate any information you have to offer. Can't wait to get it. mikem77
It is a Calumet CC-400. Popular workhorse from the 60s on. Most have 16-inch bellows draw, but some have 20 and others are shorter for wide-angle. Has a rotating back and decent movements. I'm not sure how easy carrying around an 8x10 camera is, but I tried carrying around a CC-400 a bit before finally popping for a field camera. This beast weighs close to 10 lbs and removing the 16-inch rail is not something I would want to do in the field.
robertfarnham
I have this camera. Got it for $230 with a Rodenstock lens included. Not the easiest thing to pack around. Not so much for the weight but for the sharp corners. When I did take it outside I put a big fluffy pillow between the camera and my back inside the pack, which helped. I am willing to put up with a little discomfort to save the cash (for now, anyway).
scott_fleming1
Looks like you got one heck of a deeply set recessed lens board as well.
