_MG_####.CR2 files will not open they are "not the right kind of document"

<p>I rented a 7D and all of the pictures were labeled as _MG_####.CR2 (AdobeRGB from what I understand) and I am trying to open them in CS4 and I am getting the message "could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document".<br>

any ideas how to fix this? these pictures are VERY important to me.<br>

<p>You need to install the Canon RAW plugin for CS4, Lightroom, or Canon's RAW processing software.</p>

<p>Do you have the Camera RAW 5.6 update? That's what supports the 7D.</p>

Any recent version of Canon Digital Photo Professional (DPP) will open and process your Canon Raw Files. I had to update mine to process my Canon RP files.
