7D Problem

  1. The exposure compensation dial on my Canon 7D isn't working most. I can change it in the quick menu, but the dial doesn't seem to do it (yes, it's unlocked). Any similar problems? Solutions?

  2. Do a PRAM reset by removing both mains and backup batteries for a few minutes. if that doesn't heal it, you know the
    drill: Canon Service.

I owned almost every mid-level EOS since 1990, including the 7D, and have never had the QCD fail. Extremely rare to
read of QCD failures in these forums as well.

  3. Well, it was a good try. Looks like Canon service. Thanks

  4. You're pressing the shutter button half way?

I noticed your use of the word 'most' at the end of your sentence there. Well, your Exposure Compensation (Quick Control Dial wheel at the rear of the camera) is only applicable if your Mode Dial is set to <P>, <TV> or <AV>. That it maybe?

  6. Tried all that stuff. Thanks for the suggestions, guys. It's off to the repair shop.
