gatorgums
Nothing new for a lot of folks but ... I had no six volt battery for my camera, so a cr123 and 2 button batteries will make 6v taped together. looks like an old Russian ICBM...it worked though.<div></div>
Mike Gammill
This may not be a safe combo. The button cells only provide a fraction of the current of the CR123. I know the MG-1 doesn't draw as much current as the cameras that normally use CR132 cells, but the higher current flowing though the button cells could cause them to leak or rupture. I may be being overly cautious. For my MG-1 I made a foil cylinder and taped it to the top of a PX28 silver cell which is a 6 volt cell. I keep a few spares around anyway to use in my Mamiya 645s. gatorgums
Thanks for the tip, Mike. I did not use this actual combo, but i can say that at least i could find out if the MG1 actually would fire. It did. I have since bought a 6volt cell, and cased it in some cardboard . I think i have a spring in there to take up the difference. I may try the foil though. Thanks again. Not to worry, i have disassembled the ICBM battery config!
