6D MkII and original 24-105 F4L combination

I'm considering buying a 6D MkII and have the 24-105 F4L MkI lens. I wondered if anybody is using this combination and if so what you're impressions are? My main interest is landscape stills rather than video. Thanks

It's not bad. You'll want to stop it down a bit for optimal sharpness across the frame at 24mm and 105mm (f8 ish) - and at the long end, it never gets razor sharp (IMO), but you'd probably want to do that anyway just for DOF on landscape work. I used it for awhile on my 5D2s, and it wasn't bad. Not the best, but far from the worst. Even with slightly smaller pixels on the 6D2, I'd still expect it to perform reasonably...

Thanks Marcus, I actually have the lens on my 5D MkII and have been really happy with it, I just wondered if there were any specific issues related to it's use on the 6D MkII which I plan to purchase very soon

I have exactly this combination - 6D2 and 24-105 Mk 1 - and it’s fine. Not the sharpest lens ever made, but you know that. It’s a great walkaround and travel option.

the 24-105mm may not be the sharpest, but it is certainly one of the "handiest" ever lenses.
