ben_hutcherson
Does Really Right Stuff or some other company make a custom QR plate to fit a 500C? If so, does someone have a P/N for it? I couldn't find it in their current catalog, but of course don't mine(in fact prefer) to buy used.

tom_chow
Any QR plate will bolt to the bottom - are you asking for Arcs Swiss compatible plates that replace the Hasselblad QR plate? Clearsight makes some: Adapters, Hasselblad to Arca I prefer using the built in Hasselblad QR plate, which is smaller and lower profile. Ed_Ingold
RRS has recommendations for 1/4" and 3/8" screw threads. They are rectangular plates with a lip in the short edge and an elongated hole. They fit with the lip against the rear of the built-in Hasselblade QR plate, parallel to the optical axis. While not as secure as a truly form-fitted plate, there is little stress on the plate which would cause it to turn. With a square format, there is no reason to tilt the head sideways. There are clamps which fit the Hasselblad plate, but they are used in a Rube Goldberg manner, and can't be used with any other camera. Do the RRS (or compatible Arca) QR, which is nearly universal. ben_hutcherson
Thanks guys-I'll get one of the "lipped" plates. The B82 looks like it will work. And, yes, I want an Arca-type plate that won't rotate(or at least keeps it under control). I have a generic plate on the camera now, and it is a pain. Ed_Ingold
There is a little stress on the plate when used on a ball head - using the camera to orient the POV. I don't recall needing to re-tighten the plate more than a handful of times over a period of 10 years, however.
