vasilis_hristidis
I have a DR 50/2 summicron lens on my M6 and i was wondering if i can shoot between stops. It doesn't click between say 8 and 5.6, but can i leave it between these two and shoot? Thanks in advance.

ronald_moravec1
This only iffy on reflex cameras where the dia[hragm opens and closes. You can even use inbetween shutter speeds on early M cameras. Some slow combinations are not possible like 1/10 to 1/25 and it changes depending on the model so I can never remember. 1/30 and faster are all ok. s.l.
I've never seen a lens with manual aperture settings, from any manufacturer, where you can't shoot between stops. The detents are only there to make it easy to move in stops. Many old lenses had no stops at all, just one smooth motion from open to closed. charles_stobbs3
Some older cameras had punched holes for apertures with only solid metal between stops.
s.l.
Right, forgot about those. OK -- I've never seen a lens with an iris diaphragm and manual aperture settings where you can't shoot between stops.
