  1. That shop picture brings back memories.....
I remember going by the local camera shop between work and school and dreaming about being able to one day afford a nice top end Nikon and a lens or two for the Pentax ME.
    Loved those places.

  2. I miss being able to go in to a camera shop. It was a fun thing to do.
  3. Thanks, James and Moving On. I miss being a part of a small town camera shop. We couldn't stock everything so we missed out on Nikon and Pentax. We started with Konica then added Minolta, Yashica, Contax, Fujica, and Olympus. Never had the RTS in contax, but the less expensive models. Tamron lenses, Sunpak flashes, and Omega enlargers came by way of Berkey Marketing which was also the Konica distributor at the time. What a fun way to spend my spare time in college. Dad would let me borrow anything I wanted from stock and by the time I started teaching he often consulted with me on what to stock. I also helped him with custom darkroom work. I still remember printing mugshots and crime scene photos for the local police when they upgraded from Polaroids to Konica Autoreflexes.

  13. Erko, I am not a great fan of grain for the sake of grain, but you made it look grand.
    Great photograph.
  14. I love shots like this, that show rust and the effects of weathering. I'm not really sure why, but I always have.
That is an image that really benefits from the sepia treatment. Nice job, and I like the tone you chose. I've seen some really weird shades called sepia, from yellow-orange to reddish-brown, and even verging on purple. There seems to be no agreement on what it should look like, but this shade works for me.

Thanks. I typically don't care for added effects, but this picture just didn't work well as a color image.

  19. Mike,
My favorite brew, when in the States, except HI where it is not distributed. A bunch of locals there are trying to "enforce delivery".
