342/3.5 Eastman Anastigmat--Any information?

Greetings all,

I am wondering if anyone can tell me anything about this massive 10lb

lens: I have seen a few of them go by on eBay in the past few years.

It is probably an aerial lens although it does not seem to have the

staining typical of the radioactive Aero-Ektars. The layout seems to

be some sort of 5/3 triplet with cemented middle and rear elements.

The lenses I have

seen are all pre-WWII, most of them before 1940, although all with

some form of coating. Some of the lenses are in barrels with irises

and others without. I have looked though the resources availble to me

and have found very little other than mention that it was made.
