hugh_croft
Hi. If a raw converter converts to 16bit, can it retain exif? In my limited travels around different software, it seems not. If it can't, why not? If it can, which converters do so?
ellis_vener_photography
In my very recent experience: Adobe Camera Raw, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Apple Aperture, Canon DPP, and Nikon Capture CX2. I sure others like Bibble pro, Capture One Pro, and Iridient Digital's Raw Developer do as well.

ellis_vener_photography
You do have to be aware that some camera manufacturers persist in putting EXIF data in undocumented data forks -- places where only their software can use it.
