lex_jenkins
Despite my disappointment with how Olympus has squandered the legacy of Mr. Maitaini I'd still like to see them succeed with a serious DSLR. But I don't have much confidence it'll happen, no matter how attractive the lenses they offer. I chatted with the owner of a local shop today. He's committed to supporting the demand for serious DSLRs and carries the Nikon and Canon line. I even saw a Pentax *huh? today. The Olympus E1? He said he's received *one* inquiry about it since the camera was first announced. OTOH, if I was independently wealthy with more money than brains I'd probably buy the entire E1 system, even the outrageously priced 300/2.8 telephoto, just to buck the trend. neild
Having more money than brains would allow anyone to buy things that they'd never have even considered before - there's nothing wrong with that, and I'm waiting for more money to arrive (or perhaps for my brain to shrink!!). hans_h._siegrist
Look at the Olympus SLR forum at www.dpreview.com. Plenty of extremely satisfied E-1 users there. Cheers!
neild
Oh Hans, don't get me wrong! I would be very happy to have an E-1 + lenses, believe me I would! It's just out of my financial reach...
hans_h._siegrist
Well, maybe soon. Oly promised a less expensive body for this year. Cheers!
