jess_kirk
hi I was wondering if anyone knew where I could purchase reloadable plastic or metal film cassettes because I need them for an artwork but the cassettes don’t need to work! I was also wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I could get the used outside of film canisters because all that my artwork needs is the outside!

cj8281
If you just need the cassettes you might be able to get a bunch from a photo finisher. My local Sam's Club gives me 50+ every time I ask for them. How many are you looking for? Do they need to be uniform in color or can they be diverse? If you want to pay shipping I can probably get as many as you want. Were are you located?
larrydressler
Clay he need plastic. I thought about that but they will be on a sculpture that is outside and the metal cans will rust in no time flat.

Mike Gammill
Also check the auction sites. The Kodak snap-caps are all plastic. In use the top would pop off if dropped (not good if you have film in them). But should be good for the project.
jess_kirk
hi thank you so much for the responses! I live in Australia and I only really need the cassettes to be the same size, it doesn't matter about colour! my really problem is that i need 5331 of them which costs an absolute fortune when i looked into buying reloadable cassettes. Due to the cost I thought that maybe I could just use, used film cassettes because all I really need is the outside of them. Clay where are you located? and how many do you think you would be able to get?
