A friend and I met today to discuss the formation of a large format

group in the Michiana - South Bend, IN and surrounding area.

We are in the formative stage and are looking for those who are

interested in large format photography in our area. We hope to

promote large format photography in our area, share knowledge and

techniques (both camera and darkroom), with the goal to have a yearly

exhibition of the groups work, and have fun doing it.

Our first meeting will be in South Bend, IN at Perkins restaurant (on

933 near Notre Dame)at 9AM Indiana time on Sunday September 21, 2003.

Anyone interested in large format photography whether novice or

experienced is welcome to attend.

Anyone with specific questions, please contact me via email

If you are not already aware of the Midwest Large Format Asylum, a similar group in the same area, you can get information at this site:

http://home.earthlink.net/~sddunnam/midwestlf.htm

Actually, we have a meeting of the group scheduled for that same weekend, on Saturday Sept. 20. We're meeting at Turkey Run State Park in Indiana for a day of photography in the park. Details can be found at the web site I've listed above. Please feel free to join us.

Hi Wally,

It's hard to imagine...more LF users in South Bend! :) My website also has info on the existing Midwest LF group (www.dannyburk.com). So far, my schedule has usually conflicted with meetings, and I've only been able to make it to one so far...as usual, this is the case on the weekend of the 20th once again.

Feel free to contact me individually, however; I'd enjoy meeting you and your other LF friend when we can get our schedules together.

Regards,

Danny

Turkey Run State Park is in west central Indiana, west of Indianapolis, not too far from the state line. A google search will turn up lots of information about it.

I don't know of a specifically large-format group or club in the Detroit area. I would be interested, since that's where I live.
