craig_gillette Posted July 20, 2003 Share Posted July 20, 2003 Digital SLRs will cost you well over $1000, more likely $1500 and then add significantly for lenses (although there may be some bargains out there on edge models or used/discontinued older models, etc.). The question showed a lack of familiarity with the current market (or a misplaced decimal point), hence the attempts at humor and/or ridicule. $300 dollars will get you into the beginning of the mid-range and better point and shoots in digital. Perhaps you want to be able to add filters and tele-photo or wide-angle conversion lenses. I haven't really been following the budget end cameras recently so would suggest checking Dpreview and Imaging Resource (google search) for their more current reviews and suggestions.
