donald_miller1
How do all of the ULF shooters store the big negs? Does anyone make a storage sleeve or protector for the 12X20 negs? Thanks for any help.

jorge_gasteazoro4
I got me a wood neg storage box from FAPS and put the negatives there with acid free storage paper in between each neg. Although FAPS is on my sh*t list now, the box is handy and it might help you.
michael_a._smith1
I use Artcare paper from Superior Archival Materials. For 12 x 20 I would get 25 x 20 .5 (or 24 .5 x 20.25 and fold it in half. Orders to them from their supplier can sometimes take a very long time, however. I'm about to order 8x20 paper for my negatives. Get in touch with me. I think it might be more efficient to place a larger order together.
nathan_congdon
Michael Mutmansky recently put together an order for several of us to buy 12X20 archival clear plastic sleeves. Prior to that, I had been using 16X20 plastic sleeves from Light Impressions or the like, and they were a pain to use on the lightbox, and to store. I like the 12X20 ones much better. They open on the side rather than sliding in and out, so scratches are not a risk. Michael is a regular on this forum and shold be able to tell you where he got them from. There was a hefty min order, though. Good luck,Nathan
michael_mutmansky1
We placed several orders through a company called filmguard. The make many different sizes, and they were able to accommodate the 12x20 order easily and quickly. The minimum order was 500 sheets, which equated to about $400 for a minimum order. I heard that they have raised their prices recenty, but I don't know how much. We actually had two groups place orders, one in California, and one in the East. Filmguard will place an order for the sleeves with a credit card, so the process couldn't be easier. ---Michael
steve_nieslony2
I was part of the group from California. The sleeves arrived quickly and fit perfectly. Thank you Michael for getting all of the contacts arranged so that we could place the order. You may wish to see if any others that missed the first go around might be interested in placing an order.
