rob_skeoch
Does anyone have any experiences with the Artworks 4x5 field camera that Fine Art Photo Supply sells on their Rochester web site?
mark_sampson
I've never heard of that brand. But based on the features mentioned in their e-mail, I'd guess that it's a Tachihara... whose cameras are sold under many brand names. *If* it is a Tachi, it's a very good basic camera (I used one for ten years). pat_kearns1
They claim it isn't a Tachihara but the description and pictures sure looks like my Tachihara. The only thing that looks a little different is the lens board. My Tachi has given me plenty of joy over the last 8 years. Pat.
jason_greenberg_motamedi
Looks just like that Tachihara which they claim it isn't... Anyway the price is pretty high for a basic wooden field camera, $150 more than the Tachi and $125 more than the Shen-Hao.
ed_candland1
It's either a Tachihara or an exact copy at a higher price. Funny thing is that FAPS used to sell the Shen Hao and on their site stated that they liked it better than the Tachi. It might be that the lower priced Shen Hao that they used to sell, if I'm not wrong is no longer being made. Only the higher priced HZX 4X5-IIA Camera that is still for sell on the Badger site. The lower priced one is no longer on Badger either.
jorge_gasteazoro4
Well, I went to the Badger site and opened the pic for the Tachi, in another window I opened the pic for the artworks camera. The only difference I say was the price. Badger $595, FAPS $750.....If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck..most likely is a duck. I would go with the Tachi from Badger. michael_sherck
Just what the world needs: another 4x5 camera with 12" of bellows. *sigh* Mike
