gene m
16x20 cameras and portable 4x5 enlargers. You Brits are an odd group but us Yanks appreciate your friendship.
john_kasaian1
Ian, for cheap consider APHS from Freestyle Sales. Its Ortho with an ISO of 3, ten sheets for $20.99. I'd contact freestyle to make sure they'll fit your holders though. www.freestylephoto.biz FWIW, I think Ortho really does a nice job on lush, but motionless, foliage. Good LUck! david_goldfarb
I haven't had a chance to chance to visit yet, but the likely source for ULF film in London is Silverprint--www.silverprint.co.uk. Maybe they can offer some advice on hiring a big camera (don't forget the big tripod and the big darkcloth and the big filmholders, to say nothing of the big lens). nathan_congdon
Ian: If you are serious about hiring a Wisner 16X20 in the UK, I think you may be out of luck. I think about 6-12 of these were ever made, mostly for sale to end- users. A few have come on the market, none in the UK that I am aware of. Your best bet would be to contact Wisner himself at the email on his website. He is a very helpful guy when it comes to info on his cameras. Closest bet that I am aware of is a 20X24 Wisner in a Denmark commercial studio, described in his website. Good luck! nathan
michael_kadillak6
Why not check with Lotus as they are based in Europe. I bet that you could come up with a 12x20 a heck of a lot easier than it would be to come up with a 16x20 from any manufacturer. After all, photographers are supposed to make photographs, not suffer the wrath of endless logistics. Cut to the chase with whatever panoramic format you can find a camera, holders and film for and call it good.
huib_smeets
Ian, Linhof&Studio in Leigh-on-Sea near Londen (www.linhofstudio.com) seems to have a rental option for Lotusviewcamera's, also in the ULF dimension 11x14, 12x20 etc. They probably can also equip you with film in those dimensions. ghuczek
There's a Wisner 16x20 available this week on the auction site. Unfortunately, it will only ship to North America.
robin_coutts
I would second Linhof and Studio: http://www.linhofstudio.com/ for a Lotus 16x20 you could also try Teamwork: http://www.teamworkphoto.co.uk/ who are in London. Robin
