joe_lipka3
Dan Burkholder is doing that now, too. See his web site at WWW.DanBurkholder.com
jorge_gasteazoro4
Joe, Dan is not doing gum over platinum, he is doing pigment over platinum. He prints the image in platinum and then passes it through a printer to fill in colors. Much different that gum over where a layer of gum bichromate is printer over a layer of platinum. domenico_foschi
Jorge is correct .Also, to be more specific , i need literature on the process , although i appreciate your input , i am not interested in viewing other people's work . huib_smeets
Domenico, Maybe you should subscribe to the 'Alt-Process' mailing list. More info at: http://www.usask.ca/lists/ Huib
dr5 examples
You could also try posting in the alt-process forum on this site, I'm sure there would be smeone with more experience there... I seem to recall one of my recent alt process books had a pretty big section on combining processes. He was mostly concerned with gum over cyanotype, but I imagine the process would be very similar. I'll see if I can't dig that up for you. Isaac
dr5 examples
Ok, I've dug up a couple of refrences... There is a brief overview in "The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes" (Christopher James, 2002) on pp 185-186. A more comprhensive treatment is in "Coming Into Focus" (Ed. John Barnier, 2000) from p.239-252. This section is about printing gum over cyanotype using color separation negs. Very interesting stuff, and I imagine that the process would be very similar for Gum over Plat. prints. Hope that helps a little, if I come across any vintage descriptions I'll pass them along.
