Rounding corners on a print with PS7

Recommended Posts

I am trying to create a wedding invitation with multiple photos and

script. I created a large canvas and have been sucessful in placing

scanned photos and script. However, I would like to create small

rounded corners on each of the photos. I would appreciate any

suggestions and help.

Thanks and Merry Christmas,

-Jerry

If I understand your situation correctly, I think you could add a layer to each image with a rounded edge window to create a border for each image. If they are all the same size its even easier. I once did this to create a deckle edge for number of images. Its been a while, so I hope my memory is working correctly.

I suspect you may get some better ideas once people get back to their computers after Christmas.

Good luck,

One way that might work for you is to use Adobe ImageReady instead of PS (ImageReady comes with PS, at least it came with my last two versions of PS 6 and 7). The interface is almost identical to PS so you will not be lost. Use the Rounded Rectangle Marquee selection tool and select around your image leaving a small border. Create a new image file and drag the selection to it, or then drag it to your large canvas (which can also be opened in ImageReady) and place it where you want it. Done.

there're probably easier ways than i describe, but here goes...

use the "rounded rectangle tool" to create a layer with a black-

filled rounded rectangle on a transparent background

this tool has several controls, the default should be ok except

you will need to specify the radius of the corners, and use the "fill

pixels" option

you can now use this layer as part of a clipping group...

with the rounded rectangle layer as the layer immediately below

the image layer you want to have rounded corners...

select the image layer in the layers palette

choose "Layer->Group with Previous"

your image should now have rounded corners

if you look at page 265 of the ps7 user guide it explains clipping

groups in more detail

i *think* you should be able to use multiple images+clipping

groups to achive the effect you want, otherwise you'll need to clip

each image on its own, flatten it, then past it into the larger

canvas
