No, I never said that. You're welcome to post anything here the moderators will allow. And they've allowed these in the past. I was just trying to explain why you observed what you did. There's been a long history of discussing what should go here and what not and I don't think we've ever resolved it. One reason may be that it's easier to look in just one place rather than every forum we have for critiques.

But I've also seen some NASTY notes back and forth when this happens. Probably just didn't answer as politically correctly as I could have.

the moderator suggested trying photo critiques back a short while ago. I posted one.

If you scroll down to categories in this forum, you will find there is a slot for photo critiques.

You will also find that it has not been wildly popular.

Perhaps a unrelieved diet of tech talk is what makes the Nikon forum what it is here on photo.net.

The image is very interesting. I guess that the banner reads Ït's the oil stupid. There is no oil in Korea."

I have no idea who the person is in the foreground. But the photo seems to be some kind of college (?) demonstration?

What camera and lens, film? The tonal range seems a little too high key ranged for my eye. That may have more to do with your scan than the original.

The difference between the expression on the person in the foreground and the people in the midground is striking. The large scale of the foreground person helps show the tension or difference.

But I dont really understand what is going on.

Dont know if that helps. I hope it does.

Regards Bill

I'm glad to see a photograph in this forum. Sometimes I wonder if anyone ever actually uses their gear, instead of just talking about it. I would suggest, however, that when posting a photograph in an equipment forum, you definitely should provide details--body, lens, film, settings, any other pertinent or interesting details. Otherwise, maybe it really does belong in the gallery section.
