bob_halford
Anyone know if Nikon plans to make VR lenses other than the 80-400?
dale_sandford
Yes. AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED http://www.nikon-image.com/eng/Lineup/index.html
vedearduff
Yes. It should be out sometime next year (it should have been out this fall according to the announcements). It will be a 70-200m AF-S VR lens. Unfortunately, it will also be a G lens. Vernon

mskovacs
What's up with this? The photo shows an aperture ring and is clearly marked AF-S Nikkor 80-200 1:2.8 D Did Nikon relent on the STUPID G pro lenses at the final hour? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bh2.sph/FrameWork.class?FNC=ProductActivator__Aproductlist_html___164859___NI8020028AFS___USA___CatID=4605___SID=F1F9FB18990
jim_gifford
Did you notice this string in the B&H link... NI8020028AFS which of course stands for Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 AF-S... so that's why the picture does not show the 70-200 G lens that will be available next spring. Have fun,
mskovacs
Yes one of my duller moments indeed! I stand by my opinion of Nikon's stupid G lenses...
