ceterisparibus
A while ago, I remember seeing a 3rd party grip for the FE2. Not a motor drive, just a plate and the grip. Anyone seen something like this and have a link? Thanks. John
ceterisparibus
My apologies - I should have searched the archives first. If anyone knows of a less expensive alternative, I'd be interested. Thanks.
ceterisparibus
There's also the FM-Grip.
Anyone use both? Preferences?
bill_schmidt
I bought the grip for my F3. It makes one-hand photography possible - I use it for street photography. It enables me to carry the camera against the side of my right leg and bring it up to my eye and press the shutter release, and even advance the film, with one hand. I'ts well-made and dosen't have to be removed to change film or put the camera on a tripod. Expensive but worth it.
mskovacs
Does it bother anyone else that these grips don't extend all the way across the bottom plate?
el_fang
Yep, right here. I used to have a couple of these and I can't think of a single valid reason why it was designed as it is, covering only 2/3 of the bottom and leaving the motordrive contacts exposed (and which I ended up denting). As it is, the grip is uncomfortable to use, the end of the short bottom nudging against my left palm while I'm shooting. It would be close to the perfect accessory if only it extended all the way.
