shreepad_shukla
Hi pplNeed comments on ppl who have used these products or are aware of how they perform or have sugggestions to change ! Have found a local source whos selling - TC-201 used for Rs 6,000 (~ US$ ). Am planning to use it on the 135mm f/2.8 AI lens I have...(in response to my previous post, some has suggested that i buy used 200-300mm range lenses instead of a TC or use a 1.4TC.. my main issue with those lenses is price and the fact that I need a large step up from the 135mm..) - New Kenko polarizers (Linear for ~US$12 / Circular for ~US$17) Thanks!Shreepad

scott_blair1
You didn't say what camera you have, but I will assume it is a manual focus. Get the linear polarizer to save a few bucks. I have the TC201, and it is a very good TC, but it is a TC, nonetheless. I also have the 135 f2.8 AIS. That's a very good lens, regardless of it's reputation in the post-photodo world. To get best performance, a tripod is essential, and the lens should be stopped down to f8 (and no further). If you use fast film, wide aperture, handheld, you will come to the same negative conclusion about teleconverters that so many others have. The accompanying photo is a 200mm f4 AI Nikkor on a FM2, at f8, on a tripod, shutterspeed 1/60, Sensia 100.<div></div>
scott_blair1
Oops, correction---I have the TC200, which is the older AI version. I imagine that they are the same optically. I paid 69USD for mine, but 125USD for the AIS TC201 is probably about right.
