larry n.
I am trying to decide which remote release to get for the F100. They're beth pricey, but the MC-20 is even more so and bulkier too. Does anyone who has an MC-30 wish they had bought the other or vice- versa? I will be doing mostly short exposures, but once in a while might do a long exposure. hal_bissinger
The MC-30 is your basic remote release for the F5, F100, N90s with the 10 pin electrical connector. It just duplicates the shutter release on the body.
The MC-20 adds a timer function for long bulb exposures.
It's up to you what you want to do. I use the MC-30 and in the rare time I have to do a really long exposure I just do it manually. The MC-30, by the way, does have a lock that will hold the shutter open. All you need then is a watch. If you are doing this frequently though the MC-20 is for you.
