jan_paul_campeau Posted October 25, 2002 Share Posted October 25, 2002 I have this old FM, I don't know if I'm just a little dim, but the whole camera seems to have jammed, the mirror stays up, and I can't wind to the next frame, the meter still works fine, but everything else is seized! mskovacs Posted October 26, 2002 Share Posted October 26, 2002 There is a foam cushion above the mirror that often degrades into a sticky mess after 20 years. Check to see if you can *GENTLY* flip the mirror back down with your finger. Don't touch the mirrored surface. If this is the case, its an easy fix to have the cushion replaced. After pulling the mirror back a few times times for mountaintop photos the camera thoroughly jammed & required a new mirrow box. Good luck !
