ian_gordon_bilson
I have an opportunity to bid on an SB-24 which is described as " was flashing repeatedly ,has now stopped altogether."As this item (not on Eb*y) is likely to go for a low price, should I take the risk on the offchance I can have it fixed? I'm guessing it may be something as simple(?) as a short in the shoe..Has anyone had a similar problem which was resolved without much expense ? hal_bissinger
Not likely worth anything other than for parts. I can't imagine why else anyone would try to sell the thing. Consider that Nikon apparently charges a minimum of $200 for repairs, you would be better off putting your money towards purchasing a new flash even if this obsolete thing could be brought back to life. colin carron
If you are tempted to DIY remember that you can get an almighty shock off the capacitor in these electronic flashes.
