andrew_schank
Bubbles are no big deal, but there a is a good deal of variance in the Kiev lenses from my experience. Take some photos and see if the colors are saturated and the contrast looks good. My 30mm was a dog even though it had no bubbles!
NetR
Hello Air bubbles are a problem for glass makers. This thread refers to bubbles in a large format lens: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=003DRJ I couldn't easily find a reference easily to the fact that Leica users once regarded air bubbles as a sign of genuine Leica quality, but I will keep digging and prove it if I get flamed. In the meantime, here is a link to Robert Monaghan's page on lens problems, which gives a very comprehensive desciption of all the possibilities: http://medfmt.8k.com/bronfaults.html Regards, Ross
