c.k._chow
Hey, I am going to buy a Nikon speedlight for my FM2. Any good suggestion?
c.k._chow
Sorry, wrong typing. My camera body is FE2.
david_kelly1
The dedicated flash for the FE2 was the SB 15, with a guide number of 83 (25m) and TTL, non-TTL auto and manual modes, plus bounce, swivel, and strobe for action shots. Coverage is 35mm, or 28mm with the SW6 wide angle attachment, and 24mm if you bounce. Small, lightwewight, takes 4 AAs, It keys the finder ready light, of course. Also works fine with my FM3a. Limitation: the TTL only works with film up to ISO 400, though you can use up to 800 in non-TTL auto. Price at KEH today for one in "Excellent plus" condition is $89, most are less... mskovacs
FYI you can use any Nikon TTL speedlight with your FE2, as long as it isn't dedicated for the F3. (including the new SB-50DX and SB-80DX) It might be a good idea to get a DX series flash if you are contemplating a move to digital within a few years.
