out2lunch4food
Hey, Recently I bought a near mint Nikon FG with a Nikon 35mm Series E lens for 10 bucks at a garage sale. The camera feels great, but I can't figure out what some of the buttons are for. Like the place where the pc socket is on my Fm2n, is a black botton that I have no about. Also, right near the Shutter speed dial, there's a little toggle switch with a wierd symbol under it, What's up with that? If you know what these things are, or know where I can print out an owners manual, or just want to comment on the Nikon FG, it will be more than appreciated. Thanks! -Mike
joe_guzzi
Follow the link, look under other manual focus cameras, scroll down to FG. http://www.nikonlinks.com/

paulfisher
Great camera! The button you describe is the "backlight" button. When you press it, watch the shutter speed drop by a couple of stops. The toggle near the shutter speed dial turns on/off the audible warning. The camera will beep (or not) when the shutter speed gets too low for hand held or goes over 1/1000.
