kathy_haynes
I have an old Kodak camera that also has a nice leather case. There's a metal plate on the back that reads "USE AUTOGRAPHIC FILM NO. A-120. I really don't know anything about it, if it works or not, or if film is available for old camers. I am hoping someone can tell me more information and the approximate value.
colin carron
Kathy, The autographic feature was a Kodak invention of 1914. It lasted until the 1920's. It enabled you (using autographic film) to write something about your shot on to the film using the little metal stylus thoughtfully provided by Kodak. To get at the film you opened the small 'window' on the back of the camera. The stylus should be clipped somewhere on the front of the camera but often get lost. It was not a long lasting feature probably because the writing came out in the space between the negatives and was usually cut off in enlarging. Autographic film worked by having a special backing paper. Ordinary 120 film will work in your camera but of course without the autographic feature. These cameras are not scarce so I should not get too excited from the value point of view. I do not know anyone who does autographic film these days but you never know. Try Google.
