hal_bissinger
Ok, is it just me or is there anybody else having this problem. It seems every weekday at around 12PM EDT and again around 7PM EDT PN gets so slow it take minutes for pages to load if at all. Sometimes I give up and have no problem elsewhere on the web. These times would correspond to lunch and after dinner here in the North East, times when alot of people probably "tune in" to PN. Is this the case and where are the resources going? I can't believe the text forums are sucking up that much bandwidth.
gary_l._behr__cpc
Its been a long recurrent and aggravating problem for me too, even with the fast cable connection. In fact I've pretty much given up visiting photo.net because of that. (I try maybe every other week now and just happen to see your post.) - Oh well ......... edward_zimmermann
Its not the bandwidth but the performance of the system under load. Loads of users, ACS, AOLServer, Oracle and a Sun E450 are not the stuff of fast high traffic sites.. 12 EDT and 19:00 EDT are probably very popular times for people to not just visit but also post--- and those are the hammer. That said.. If photo.net's numbers are to be believed they are actually getting a very good run for their money on performance and service quality..
