owen_koh
Hello everyone I will be making a trip to Tokyo in about a week and was thinking of purchasing a D100 while out there. The prices there seem to be a lot cheaper than I can get over here. Does anyone know if the menu system on the D100 is country specific? A lot of screenshots of the D100 lcd screen from Japanese websites show the menus in Japanese. Can this be changed to English or will I have to buy it either here or in the US? thanks in advance! jay__3
The new Kodak slr which takes nikon lenses seems a better bet.14mm pixels against 6mm worth saving/waiting for a little while.
Jerry_
If you check with Yodabashi Camera and explain you want a export model D100 (with English,) you should be able to find one to purchase. (Just a reminder, the Japanese camera shops are not super keen on card cards, cash [Yen] will get you a better deal, and if you are going with a round-trip ticket, you should qualify for a 'duty-free' purchase and save a bit of the taxes. Also, be aware that the Japanese are pretty aware of the Internet and prices in New York. Factoring that into your price, Nikon USA may not wish to honor the warranty in the States: leaving you the cost of shipping to Japan for repair work (should it become necessary.) Travel safe.... fotografz
Take Peters' advice. Personally, the Kodak 14 meg is what I've been saving for. I've already ordered one.
bill_hocker1
Given the fact that Contax, Canon, and Kodak have all now produced cameras with a full-sized chip isn't the D100 already a fossil? Nikon must have one out in the next year or they are history in the professional digital camera business. Don't buy yet.
