There are numerous reviews of this one (try www.dpreview.com); I tried it for 2 minutes, and I didn't like the EVF (although everyone is braggin about this, I prefer an optical viewfinder). It has a rather monsterous zoom range, but only starts at 35mm. Another thing I found limiting is that it doesnt have any filter threads.

Modest build quality. Poor lens. Decent button arrangement and a terrible, terrible viewfinder. Blooms in bright light, poor detail and not fun to use at all. It's basically reduced to a huge version of the Nikon 2500 because the EVF is useless.

I don't much like it. The extending zoom isn't too nice. As big as it is they could have kept the zooming lens internal. It could also use a larger hand grip. Overall I think it's a misfire from the Nikon camp. They could have done a lot more and a lot better with it.

It has hokey things like best shot selector and other useless features that the Nikon rep showed us. And my coworkers and myself were all wondered why those "features" were there. Probably to help make the thing sell.

Nice features are the zoom range, although the lens is relatively poor and slow. The swiveling LCD on the back is nice as well, and it is well made. But again, for a camera with the amount of zoom it has, it needs more grip.

And after using it I was really disappointed. It's very clunky, and suffers quite badly from the Nikon focusing jig that teh coolpi do even after focus has been obtained. It often misses.

I have used a 5700 for some two or three months. I have found it to be a great digital camera..It has a super macro lens and very sharp..According to more reviews I have found it is the best digital in its class..I have been very pleased with it...It is very sturdy and well built.
