sergio_ortega6
Come on, people...I know this is a new forum, and everyone is one their best behavior...but surely someone could have come up with something snappy, like: "Simon, just try Ilford's new Digital B&W Infrared film". muellerworld
Bjørn Rørslett has a a pretty good bit of info on the subject at:
http://www.naturfotograf.com/UV_IR_rev01IR.html
It seems that the simple addition of a Wratten 87 or 89a filter (plus a stop of exposure compensation) will get you started. I have recently started experimenting with it, but have not come up with anything I am thrilled with yet (but I am still playing with my results in Photoshop to get a workable solution).
Good luck. bob_biess
Simon, I just purchased an infrared filter for my CoolPix 990 from Harrison & Harrison Optical Engineers. They don't have a website yet, but you can reach them at (559)782-0121 or by email at harrisonop@aol.com. Based on their recommendation, I purchased an 89-B filter that was custom fitted into a 28mm screw-mount lens. The total cost was $23.50 including shipping and it works great! I highly recommend them.
muellerworld
Hey Bob, Could you post an example or two? I'd love to see what you're coming up with with the 89a filter. (I have an 87 and an 89a on order...) Thanks.
