How do I set film speeds ABOVE 400asa on a Minox B

If you use ASA 800 film, double the shutter speed for ASA400. fOR example, if

at ASA 400, shutter indicates 1/100, you double it to 1/200.

For ASA 1600, quadruple it, and so on.

<p> Alternatively, you may set ASA dial to 400, then fully pull open

Minox B, turn the speed dial, instead of the usually 1/100, you now

turn the dial the 200, and close the camera. Now the meter

is set for ASA 800. For ASA 1600, similarly index the speed dial

at 1/400 ( slightly less then 500 mark )

For 1600 ASA film you can set the "ASA" pointer so that it points to

an imaginary location two stops above the "400" dot, when the shutter

is set to 100. This would correspond approximately to the second

connecting line from the left. The meter in my B is inaccurate by

almost exactly two stops and this is how I compensate.
