mark_wiens
I am interested in finding a field camera with forward axis tilts. (pivots from the center, not at the base)
Can someone tell me what is out there? Thanks.

andrew_cole1
As far as I know, all the Wisner field cameras have forward axis tilts, I know for sure the Traditional does.
I would think that most decent field cameras have front axis tilt. kcrisp
Mark: Are you looking for geared forward tilts, or just the ability to do it? Most field cameras can do this. Most can do both axis and base tilts. Wisners, Zone VI, Tachihara and Deardorffs all can do axis tilts. All three of those (not the Deardorff) will tilt from the base too. The only one I've used which won't (with reasonable ease) do this is the Ikeda, since the front standard hooks into slots which make it inconvenient to do anything other than base tilts. (But you can get there by lowering the standard out of the slots, tilting it a little bit, and then raising it and tightening the screws.)

chris_jordan3
yep, confirming that Wista metal fields have them. i use a Wista SP with a cool friction-gear driven front axis tilt that can be micro-adjusted.

doug_paramore
My Tachihara, which I bought last summer new, does not have axis tilts on the front. It is base tilt. I'm thinking about removing the little tit that slides in the slot. Anyone tried that?
Regards,
Doug.
jeff_buckels
Koronas have axis tilt, front and rear. -jeff buckels
mike sisk
Doug, I have a newer Tachihara as well and have had the same thought. However, you can slide the front standard all the way up to free the pin from the slot, tilt the standard forward, and bring it back down to get an forward axis tilt. I find this works well enough for me.
john grunke
Without knowing what exactly is considered field, I would like to add Cal. C1 8x10.
tom_perkins
The Wisner Expeditions and Pocket Expeditions, as well as the technical fields, have front geared axis tilt. Also, check out the Walker Titan, which is rugged and has a front axis tilt.
