lutz
Chris,

You meant signed, not designed, right? sparkie
Lutz, do you know how to attach a pic to show in the browser along with the text. I think Mike Dixon does it from time to time. Just thought you might know. Thanks

peter_hughes1
Oh goody. Let's kill another protected species of snake so its skin can serve as the covering for a Leica so some rich collector can add it to his collection and put it in a glass case along with a couple of dozen others. Whoop.
michael_kastner
Peter, I just don't see any connection. Whats up here? (Thanks, Lutz, your contribution was nice.)
Mike
wilhelm
I'd call it more "decorated" than designed by Klein.
msitaraman
This is truly ludicrous. Fortunately, the cause, RSF, is very worthy.
By the way, Reporters Sans Frontiers put out an annual photo book/magazine consisting exclusively of HCB pictures. Does anyone know if they have done other such annuals? And where I can get copies?
lutz
Sparkie

Yes, I do. But Tony has already done a great job explaining it exhaustively in the "Administration" files of the archive. Here's the thread:

http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id= 004UkB

For other layout options you might also check:

http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id= 00695t

Somewhere in the middle of the thread...

Cheers,
richard10
Mani,
Reporters Sans Frontiers has put out several annuals. The one on HCB was excellent (goes without saying) and they did one featuring Robert Dosineau (I know I'm misspelling it). I can't remember who the third featured. I picked up my copy at large newstand here in NYC. You might be able to order it from Reporters Sans Frontiers directly. I'll check my issue when I get home tonight. damond_lam
I'd rather put my name on my second hand M6 Classic (engraved in red on top plate) and "You have to make more nice pictures since you've spent so much money on a Leica" or "There is no picture exposed without pressing the shuttle release" engraved on the back of the camera in black.
This camera belongs to the shelf of a Leica collector. If I go out and use this camera I will explain many times to people that I am not "William Klein" and having said so I do not borrow this camera from a celebrity stranger named William Klein either. raymond_tai
Damond, my motorcycle buddy had a Yamaha RZ350 "Kenny Roberts" special with a huge decal of Kenny Roberts' signature on the fairing and it is quite hilarious how many people came up to him and asked if he was Kenny Roberts! albert_smith
Damond and Ray's comments remind me of an old Steve Martin joke from his stand-up days. As an avid skier in Colorado, he use to get on ski lifts with strangers and mess with their minds by calling them by name (which he got off of their personalized skis) and acted like he knew them all of their life. Usually out of fear of being embarrassed, the people pretended to know Steve, which of course they didn't. He said that this one guy, "rental" really looked confused.
