bob_l._jones
After renting the Canon 1.4x extender a few times, I bought one from B&H (grey market). The one I rented had the usual rear lens cap on one end and a metal screw on cap for the end that protrudes into the rear of the lens. The extender that I bought came with a plastic cap that bayonets on instead of the metal screw on type of the rental extender. Is this a new design or should I ask B&H for the metal screw on cap? Thanks in advance for your help.
michael_k._gardner1
I believe the plastic cap is a new design, while the metal protruding cap is an older design. My 1.4x extender came with plastic caps (from Camera World, US not grey market). I don't think you have anything to worry about.
pixseal
I'll trade you my metal screw-on cap for the more convenient plastic cap....
