Ed_Ingold
I don't go where I might be regarded as a snack. If I see a bear, especially cubs, I back away, trying to keep at least 100 yards (3.1 bear seconds) away. For unplanned encounters, it's prudent to sling a short-barreled rifle (.45-70), if permitted, or a .44 Mag revolver (permitted almost everywhere, outdoors).
robert_ante
I live at the edge of a large state park as well as a national recreation area. Lots of bears visit my property. In almost forty years have never taken a really good picture. Why? I become too interested in the subject and forget about my camera, although I have good intentions with camera at my side. On the other hand, the bears seem to show even less interest in me.

bgelfand
I do not know if you intended it, but several of the rock formations look like animals, too. The brown formation the bear is walking toward looks like the head and shoulder of a very large bear hiding behind a boulder. The darker formation, above it looks like the head of a huge animal looking down. Top right looks like a bison head, while center right looks like a huge lizard crawling down the rock. Intentional or not, well done.
