karl_gibala
Hello
I own a Eos 50E but do not have the manual for it.I have learnt almost every feature of this camera by reading reviews and postings in this forum. (Thanks to Bob Atkins and many others). Recently I decided to buy the Magic Lantern book for this camera hoping to find details of the icons under metering switch. To my surprise this book does not explain which icon is for evaluative or partial metering.I remember reading a thread about this question some time back however cannot remember the details. So my questions to all those who have used EOS 50/Elan II is1. Which is the icon for evaluative metering? 2. In which modes will the selection of metering modes will be in use.My understanding is that in PIC modes only evaluative metering is used regardless of the switch position.
My other query is about using a dioptre adjustment eyepiece with glasses. I wear glasses with -2 dioptre power. Which eyepiece should I get?
Regards
Karl

jim_strutz
I believe that in the close-up PIC mode the camera selects partial metering.
I also understand that Canon uses -1 diopter as a basis for it's viewing system, but this does not matter since the accessory correction lenses take this into consideration in their labeling. So, buy a -2.
