quietdogimages
In have a EF 70-200 f2.8 USM and a EF 24-70 f2.8 USM lenses that went into the water in and the electronics function an auto accident. Both have dried out and the electronics function properly. But the interior lenses need cleaning and the lense mechanics lubricated. Canon no longer services these lenses and I am looking for a good business that can help with this. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Mark
hjoseph7
Have you tried KEH. I'm not sure if they still have a repair service, but they do service used camera equipment....
Ken Katz
Apparently KEH still does camera / lens repairs. I have not used them for repair but like many, I have sold and bought equipment from them with satisfaction. FYI, starting price for repairing zoom lenses at KEH is $320. Also, if it was in salt water, you should probably reconsider your options in that damage to electronics may be irreparable. Best of luck.
Robin Smith
I reckon it might be cheaper to look for replacement s/h ones.Worth getting quotes though, but there will be all the hassle of shipping etc. See how much they are worth s/h and decide whether it is even worth trying. JDMvW
Replacement won't be cheap (though remember that your damaged lenses were "used" before they were damaged). However, I'm guessing that even with repairs, reconditioning, there may be long-term problems.
