Are there any photo-oriented grip options for phones?

I was recently in Hamburg visiting a family member. Wandering around the city (not my first time there) I mostly used my smartphone for photos. More and more, I am content to use my smartphone where previously I'd have used a "real" camera (or not taken any photos at all). I notice a few shortcomings using a phone for photography (not least the lack of good telephoto options), but one thing I was conscious of in particular is the ergonomics of actually holding the phone. More than once I was taking a photo over the edge of a bridge, and I think it would be very easy to be bumped and drop the phone.

Has anyone encountered good solutions for this? I was thinking something as simple as a wrist strap would give a little more confidence - but my phone doesn't have an eyelet for a strap. Or a photo-oriented case that would simply give a more substantial camera-like grip?

I personally don't use phones, but I have seen gals wearing theirs in NRC like housings on a shoulder strap across their chests.

Wrist straps did not work for P&Ss in my boiler suit pockets; Imdropped them all the time.

In doubt browse online market places for accessories for your specific model.

There is a broad assortment of "selfie sticks" which normally have a fitting on one end that grips across the phone (and said sticks normally have multiple telescoping sections that collapse down in length). There are also "tripod adapters" that are essentially a clamping device with a 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 female thread to put them on a tripod. In that general category there are all sorts of optional features that may or may not be of additional utility. Once one has a standard screw thread available there are hand grips, wrist straps, monopods, hiking poles, etc.

I recently bought one of these. It includes a tiny BlueTooth fob that can be used as a remote trigger. My one disappointment is that the clamping widget has a cold shoe on the end opposite the clamping knob, but with my iPhone 13Pro in an OtterBox case, the knob hangs down too far to turn the phone fully horizontal with the cold shoe on top. But there are dozens of choices if that's a problem.
