Leslie Reid
You are invited to upload one or more of your landscape photos and, if you’d like, to accompany your image with some commentary: challenges you faced in making the image? your intent for the image? settings? post-processing decisions? why you did what you did? the place and time? or an aspect you’d like feedback on? And please feel free to ask questions of others who have posted images or to join the discussion. If you don’t feel like using words, that’s OK too—unaccompanied images (or unaccompanied words, for that matter) are also very much welcomed. As for the technicalities, the usual forum guidelines apply: files < 1 MB; image size <1000 px maximum dimension. I couldn't decide which of two to post, so I punted and went back to the coast: I liked the foreground texture here. I just now realized that as of yesterday, Wednesday Landscapes has been going for 5 years--Happy Birthday, everyone! And thank you all for the great images you provide every week!

Leslie, without you, this forum probably would have died an early death. Your "kick-off image" is fascinating. It's as if the waves closest to the shore are viscous.

Laura Weishaupt
Cake should be part of any birthday party. Here's a landscape cake that I think most will appreciate. I know how hard it is to open a thread week after week, year after year. Thanks Leslie.
sallymack
Leslie, thanks for keeping the forum going. Your photo is stunning! Since nothing says "Happy birthday" like a bunch of newly-hatched spiders. . .
Wayne Melia
Fundamental tools of landscape photography include: having foregound, middleground and background for depth, and leading lines to sweep the viewer's eye thru the photograph... cursed choppy orthogonals

Allen Herbert
David / Glen special for me. Highlights somewhat blown not that it really matters that much...just me having a thing about blown highlights. May I suggest, in a helpful way, a Variable Neutral Density Filter.
