Porn link

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Suddenly I have noticed at the top of the page a photo of a reclining woman. I just noticed it when I accidently clicked on this image and was sent to a porn site. I haven’t seen this before. Is it me or has something changed? I can block it with an ad blocker, but every time a page refreshes the image briefly displays. Very annoying.

Yes, I noticed this image flash up briefly this morning as well, so not on your end.

I was too slow to see it if it got to me.

When anything like this happened in past it was usually malign "outside agitators"

There once, long ago, was a flood of Korean (I think it was) content that intruded.

I have my own browser screwed down pretty tightly, so only rarely see any ads at all. I figure that sites that don't like my privacy measures are not sites that I want to see anyhow

Thanks, @samstevens - it wasn't obvious to me that the template I changed would also do something to the top header, it appeared to only affect what is now a grey box next to the forum icon. (You can get back to the main controls by removing the /discuss from the URL as a workaround until I restore the old JS/CSS.)

Ok, back on this again today. I discovered lots of obsolete pointers to dead ad banners from years ago in the templates, so I'm trying to unwind those back to the defaults. (If you see an ugly brightly colored rectangle pop up somewhere on the site today, it's probably me trying to identify which part of the page the template snippet applies to. We no longer have a working sandbox/staging environment for me to mess with unfortunately.)pasted-image-0.png
