Happy New Year 2022 to all Canon shooters and photographers following the Canon threads.

I am hoping everyone had a great Holiday and we have a good 2022. I am looking forward to see your images this week from your part of the country and world.

My wife and I once again changed locations on our adventures and just arrived this week in Monterery California so I will have fun exploring this region around Salinas, Sand City, Monterey and hopefully make a few drives to Big Sur and up the coast to San Francisco.

It is about 10 AM in California and 1 PM on the East Coast and seeing no one has started this weeks thread, here goes. I hope everyone contributes. You know the drill, please post 3 to 6 or so images shot with Canon DSLRs or Mirrorless cameras. We have not been getting a lot of participation. Please everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. I have been seeing a lot of new Canon users on other forums and I encourage people to participate. This is chance to show off your work, show others what you are doing in photography, hopefully get some feed back and see what your peers are doing to hopefully inspire you to get out there and use your camera. Ask questions, comment, make friends and bond with fellow photographers and Canon shooters.

My shots today are from Monterey. This first shot is a Seascape 6 image composite done with a 5D MK IV and a Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 at 74mm and f/11 or f/14 I think, shot yesterday. The final image was 13018 pixels wide, I reduced the original for the web. It was huge. Click on it to see larger version.

This is from Canery Row. Same lens, not a composite.

And a Gull on a Rock with Splash. You can decide which you like best.

Looking forward to seeing your images.

Hi Mark:

I thought images from any mirrorless camera would go in the "Mirrorless Digital Cameras" forum.

nail33,

You can post them there too. But Canon Mirrorless can go here too. EOS R EOS R6, EOS R5, EOS R3.

I agree with a Post JDMvW posted a few weeks back. I don't see why we don't drop the EOS, but it has been here for decades I suppose.

EOS means Electro-Optical System and is just a branding Canon came up with.

As far as the mirroless forum, it is a catch all regardless of manufacturer. The Sony forum also has their photo of the week and A7R*** camera shooter post there and they can also post in the Mirrorless forum.

Look at it as more places to post your shots and share ideas and feed back.

It's all good. So feel free to post your Canon Mirrorless shots here too.

Thanks Mark and Andy for the clarification. I agree that there may be a need for an updated revision to the nomenclature currently given to some of the forum categories.
