matt swope
I stopped in to this site expecting to see a whole string of information on the new Canon A3 and was surprised to find none !
I thought I would start of the discussion. Does anyone know the specs on the A3 and how the eye controlled focus system is supposed to work with 45 focus points ?
I read the press release, but it did not give specs such as whether or not there was mirror lock up, etc...
Canon said that the A3 does not replace any current body, so I am assuming that Canon is going to leave the A2 as the only pro body with built in flash ?
One thing I did not like about the A3 is that I see you have to go out and purchase a whole new set of accessories for it that someone who already has EOS will not have, like a cable release, remote transmittor etc...any comments on this
brad_hutcheson
As for features, it is just speculation, but I doubt they left off mirror lock up. It is probably just the psuedo lock up like the other current bodies have though. As for the cable release, the T3 socket has been complained about for years, so I guess they lisntened finally. I don't know why they would make a new wireless remote though. More should be out soon, and I'm sure someone will post it when it is.

darryl_pentz
A3? I don't get it. I've read a few posts about some A3 camera but there's nothing on the Canon sites and no other info. Does the author of this page mean the EOS3? Sorry, just want to clear up the confusion. - DJP
