clark_roberts
Hi all, Does anyone have experience with new batteries from Watson or Wasabi for the EOS1DS, I know I could get used original ones but I don't know if they will last. Thanks
Sandy Vongries
I would not consider used batteries. I bought some OEM and they read End of use in the camera, work to some extent, but unpredictably. I have Nikon system, but have used both Wasabi & Watson successfully for many years.
clark_roberts
Thanks that's good to know, do you like one over the other?
Sandy Vongries
Thanks that's good to know, do you like one over the other? Though this will bring down a storm, good aftermarket like Watson and Wasabi don't seem to perform any differently than OEM. I do have multiple batteries for every camera and am very battery conscious - on the cameras that will show it, the menu is set to battery condition. I've never run out of power.
mike_sowsun
I bought this DSTE NP-E3 from Amazon.ca last year and have no complaints at all. It is much better than my old Canon NP-E2 that was long past it’s prime and could barely hold a charge. I wouldn’t consider a used NP-E3 because they could also be near the end of their useful lives. It probably doesn’t matter which brand you buy because I bet they are all made in the same factory in China. When shopping, also consider getting a NP-E2 because it is exactly the same battery and you just have to remove 2 screws to swap out the end plate. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00MHEOAA8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Edited November 2, 2021 by mike_sowsun
